01 Who we are
This website is operated by PBD Group — the trading name of Plumbing by Dodson Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England and Wales under company number 12331662.
For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the data controller of the personal information you provide through this website.
Our registered office is at 28 Old Park Road South, Enfield, EN2 7DB. You can contact us about anything in this policy by emailing enquiries@plumbingbydodson.co.uk or calling 0203 336 7362.
02 What information we collect
We only collect information that is necessary to respond to your enquiry and provide our services. This includes:
- Information you give us directly through the contact form, by phone, by email or via WhatsApp — typically your name, email address, phone number, postcode, the service you’re enquiring about, and any details about the job you choose to share with us.
- Information collected automatically when you visit the site — basic technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited. This is used to keep the site working and secure.
- Cookie data — see §7 below.
We do not collect special category data (e.g. health, religion, ethnicity) and we never ask for it.
03 Why we collect it (lawful basis)
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for processing your data. Ours are:
- To respond to your enquiry and provide a quote — lawful basis: taking steps to enter into a contract at your request (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To carry out the work you book us for — lawful basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To meet our legal obligations (tax records, accounting, insurance) — lawful basis: legal obligation (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To keep our site secure and functioning — lawful basis: legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
04 How we use your information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your enquiry, send a quote and arrange a call-out
- Carry out the plumbing, drainage or leak detection work you’ve asked for
- Issue invoices, accept payment and keep accounting records
- Comply with legal, regulatory and insurance obligations
- Improve how the website works (anonymised analytics where you’ve consented)
We never sell your data, and we don’t use it for marketing without your clear, opt-in consent.
05 Who we share it with
We share information only with trusted parties who help us run the business or where required by law. These include:
| Recipient | What they do |
|---|---|
| Our engineers & staff | To carry out the work you’ve booked. |

All of the above are bound by confidentiality and act only on our instructions.
06 How long we keep your information
We only keep your data for as long as we need it:
- Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Customer records (jobs we’ve carried out): 6 years from the end of the relevant tax year, as required by HMRC.
- Insurance and legal records: retained for as long as legally necessary (typically 6 years).
- Website logs and analytics: typically 14 months or less.
07 Cookies & similar technologies
A “cookie” is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies in two ways:
Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
These make the site work properly and cannot be switched off. They include:
- A cookie that remembers your cookie-banner choice so we don’t keep showing the banner.
- Security cookies used to protect form submissions from spam and abuse.
Optional cookies (only with your consent)
These help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it. Examples include:
- Google Fonts — the typography on the site is delivered by Google’s font service, which may set its own cookies.
- Form-provider cookies — the contact-form service may set cookies for anti-spam / functional purposes.
- Future analytics — if we add anonymised analytics in future (e.g. Plausible, Google Analytics), they would appear here.
When you first visit the site, you’ll see a cookie banner asking your preference. You can change your choice at any time:
08 Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have a number of rights over your personal data, including:
- Right of access — ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete.
- Right to erasure (the “right to be forgotten”) — ask us to delete your data, where there’s no overriding legal reason to keep it.
- Right to restrict processing — ask us to pause processing while we look into a concern.
- Right to data portability — ask us to send your data to you or another provider in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object — including objecting to any marketing.
- Right to withdraw consent at any time, where consent is our lawful basis.
To exercise any of these rights, email enquiries@plumbingbydodson.co.uk. We’ll respond within one month.

This website and our services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we’ll delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, when we add a new service or use a new third-party tool. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page tells you when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on the website.
